A Brisbane boat sale starts with what is included
A boat advertised as a complete package can mean very different things. Your runabout might include a newer outboard and a registered trailer; another may be a hull with an engine that needs work. Separating those details helps us understand what you are offering before discussing a price.
Send the make, approximate length and year, then describe the motor and trailer separately. Mention a replacement engine, recent servicing or repairs, but also tell us about soft flooring, visible corrosion or missing gear. You do not need a polished sales advert. An accurate description is more useful than calling everything ‘good for its age’.
River berth, bayside storage or a trailer at home?
Brisbane City Council lists ramps, pontoons and other access points across the city’s waterways. That variety matters when arranging a boat inspection: a vessel afloat on the Brisbane River is a different proposition from a trailer boat parked at home. Give us the actual storage suburb and access details, not only the waterway where you last used it.
If the boat is afloat, include the berth location and whether it can move under its own power. For a trailer boat, note gate width, a steep driveway or blocked access. Do not move the boat to a public ramp before an inspection or handover location has been agreed.
Three details that make a boat assessment more useful
Hull and fit-out
Describe the hull material, layout and known repairs. A photo of the outside alone will not show the floor, seating or transom. Keep current pictures available for our follow-up, particularly if the boat has changed since its last listing.
Engine history
Give the engine make, horsepower and approximate age separately from the boat’s year. Tell us when it last ran and whether the hours are known. A recent service invoice is helpful; an estimate should be identified as an estimate.
Trailer and extras
List the trailer, electronics, canopy and removable equipment that are staying with the boat. If you plan to keep the sounder or fishing gear, say so at the start so the discussion concerns the package you actually want to sell.

Photograph the Brisbane boat package where it is stored
A Brisbane seller may have a trailer boat beside the house, a vessel in dry storage or a boat kept afloat. Photograph it in its current setting. Include the hull, engine, interior and every item that forms part of the sale. A clear picture of the trailer coupling, tyres and winch is useful when the trailer is included.
For a boat on the river or at a bayside berth, explain how an inspection can take place and who controls access. Note whether the engine runs, whether shore power or a tender is involved, and any deadline set by a storage agreement. The storage location helps us plan the discussion; it does not need to become a handover point.

Give both ages where known, along with the outboard model, horsepower and service information. The package should be described component by component; the hull year alone does not explain the engine or trailer.
