Changing boats or spending less time on the water? Discuss selling your Gold Coast boat directly, with the engine, accessories and handover arrangements clearly understood from the start.
Tell us about your boat
Tell us what you’re selling. Start with the details you know.

Selling before you upgrade? Separate the two decisions
It is easy to focus on the next boat while the current one is still costing time and taking up space. Before committing to an upgrade timetable, work out exactly what you are selling and what you need to retain. A direct enquiry lets you discuss the existing vessel without first organising a public listing and repeated viewings.
Tell us if a storage renewal or another purchase is influencing your timing. We can discuss the boat and the proposed sale, but an enquiry is not a confirmed collection date. Do not book the next step around a payment or handover until those terms have been agreed.
Decide what stays aboard
Navigation and electronics
Identify the sounder, chartplotter and other fitted electronics by model where possible. Make clear which units work and which you intend to move to your next boat. An empty bracket should not be described as an included system.
Fishing and leisure equipment
Outriggers, bait boards, removable seats and water-sports equipment can make the package difficult to describe from one photo. List included items and exclusions separately. Keep personal fishing tackle out of the description unless it is genuinely part of the proposed sale.
Covers, tenders and trailers
Mention the condition of covers and clears, whether a tender is included, and any trailer offered with the vessel. These should be discussed as actual components, not assumed extras because they happen to appear in an older photograph.
Broadwater and Coomera boats: explain the access
The Broadwater, Seaway and Coomera River include many different storage and access situations. The precise berth or storage location matters more than simply saying ‘Gold Coast’. A boat at a private pontoon needs different access arrangements from one on a trailer.
Include the marina or storage suburb, vessel length and whether the engine is operational. If access involves a managed facility, explain who can authorise a visit and whether notice is required. Do not assume a berth, pontoon agreement or storage space is included in the boat sale. Those arrangements need their own confirmation.
A price discussion grounded in the boat's condition
A well-equipped boat can still need mechanical or structural work. Explain recent maintenance alongside faults, including anything that has stopped you using the vessel. For a cruiser, available service records and the current operating condition are more informative than a long list of original brochure features.
We consider the details, ask about any inspection needed and discuss purchase suitability. If the sale proceeds, settle the included equipment, price, payment and removal arrangements together. Use the boat enquiry form to begin. If the boat is stored in Brisbane rather than on the Coast, our Brisbane page covers that location; contact us if you are unsure which details to provide.
Price the boat you are selling, not the replacement
Owners who plan to upgrade can blur two separate decisions: what the next boat costs and what the current package includes. Start with the vessel you own. Record its make, length, year if known, engine details and recent use. Add the asking price you have in mind, but keep the replacement purchase out of the condition description.
Gold Coast boats often carry removable electronics and fishing equipment. State whether the sounder, GPS, electric motor, covers or safety gear will stay with the boat. If an item appears in a photo but will move to the next vessel, identify it before an offer is discussed. That keeps the proposed package clear for both sides.
Include the actual storage suburb and any berth, yard or trailer access limits. A sale date linked to storage fees or delivery of another boat should be raised in the first conversation, not after terms are discussed. Talk through the package and timing with Cash for Boats Australia.
Gold Coast service-area context
Use this map for general Gold Coast location context, not as an office or handover address. Your enquiry should name the boat’s real suburb, marina, yard or residential storage situation.
Questions when changing boats on the Gold Coast
State that it is excluded before discussing the offer. Identify anything being removed, including transducers or related fittings, and describe how the boat will be left. That prevents photographs of the existing setup from giving the wrong impression.
Do not treat a berth as part of the package without separate approval from the relevant operator. Tell us where the boat is kept and what access is available; the vessel sale and the storage agreement are different matters.
Give the renewal date in your first enquiry. We can discuss the practical requirements, but availability, inspection and purchase suitability still need confirmation. A requested deadline is not a guaranteed sale date.

Move from upgrade planning to a clear boat-sale enquiry
Tell us what is included, what needs attention and where the boat is stored. Clear details make it easier to discuss the package without turning it into a polished private-sale listing.
