Cash for Boats Sunshine Coast

Your boat’s recent use and maintenance tell a better story than its age alone. Send us the details of your Sunshine Coast boat and discuss selling it in its current condition.

What has changed since your boat last went out?

A boat that was used last weekend needs a different description from one that has sat under a cover for two summers. Start with when you last used it, what worked then and anything that has changed. If the battery is flat or a fault has not been diagnosed, describe that plainly rather than guessing at the cause.
For an outboard, include the model, horsepower, approximate age and recorded hours if available. Mention servicing or replacement parts you can document. A newer engine on an older hull should be identified separately. These details help us ask useful follow-up questions instead of treating the whole package as a single model year.

Useful evidence of upkeep

Dates rather than 'recently'

A service completed last month and one completed several years ago are not the same. Give the date and what the invoice covers. If there are no records, tell us what you know without presenting an assumption as a documented service history.

Condition beneath the cover

Keep current photos of the floor, seats, hull sides and transom available. Include visible damage or deterioration as well as the clean areas. Do not conceal a problem to make the first photograph look better; it will need discussion before a purchase.

What remains untested

Make a short list of equipment you have not used lately, such as a sounder, bilge pump or auxiliary motor. ‘Not tested’ is a useful answer. There is no need to claim everything works simply because it did when the boat was put away.

Sell as it stands or repair it first?

You can enquire before deciding whether to spend money on repairs. Tell us what the issue is, whether it has been professionally assessed and what work has already been completed. An enquiry about a non-running or older boat is welcome, but each purchase is considered individually.
We will discuss the information and any further assessment needed. If you accept an offer, the payment, included equipment and handover are agreed before the sale goes ahead. For a boat stored further north, see our Gympie page. Read how our business approaches boat enquiries, or use the quote form when you have the basic details ready.

Mooloolah or Maroochy use is context, not the storage address

Sunshine Coast boats may have been used around the Mooloolah or Maroochy waterways while being stored somewhere else. Explain how the boat was used and provide its current storage location. Do not assume a familiar launch point tells us where it can now be inspected.
A vessel normally used around Mooloolaba might currently be on a trailer well inland. Give the storage suburb, whether the boat is afloat or ashore, and any access restriction. If it cannot be moved under its own power, say so. We can then discuss the current situation rather than plan around the last trip you took.

Saltwater use and maintenance details belong in the enquiry

A Sunshine Coast boat may look tidy in photographs while its recent operating history remains unclear. Tell us where it was used, when the engine last ran and what maintenance you can document. Service invoices, engine-hour information and notes about flushing or storage add context without turning your enquiry into a mechanical report.
Point out corrosion, soft flooring, damaged upholstery, electrical faults or a trailer that needs work. Include current photos of these areas. A used fishing boat with a sound hull and a motor needing attention presents a different package from a running boat on a trailer with unresolved structural problems.
Owners sometimes consider repairs before selling an old boat. Ask about the vessel as it stands before committing to work chosen only for the sale. We can review the known condition, included equipment and storage access, then discuss whether more information is needed. Send your Sunshine Coast boat details.

Sunshine Coast service-area context

The Sunshine Coast map is provided for regional orientation only. It does not mark a business office. Please provide the vessel’s actual suburb and whether it is at home, in a yard, on a trailer or at a marina.

Sunshine Coast owners ask about condition

Not to start the conversation. Describe its present condition and any known maintenance due. Spending money on a service does not establish what an offer will be, so discuss the boat before deciding which work to commission.
Give the date it last ran, the symptoms you have observed and any diagnosis already obtained. Do not label the problem as minor unless that is established. We need to understand the present condition, not only its history.
Yes. Say the hours are unknown and provide the engine make, model and approximate age if known. Supply any available service records during follow-up rather than estimating an hour reading you cannot verify.

Share the condition before spending more on repairs

A straightforward description of the hull, motor, trailer and recent use is enough to begin. Mention known faults and storage access so the enquiry reflects the boat as it sits now.
